Parentification and Sibling Relationship

Dear participants,
Thank you for your interest in this study. In order for you to participate, we need your written consent. Please read the following information carefully.

1. Purpose and procedure of the study
The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between retrospective Parentification and sibling relationship quality. Parentification refers to the assumption of tasks and responsibilities for the family system during childhood and adolescence that go far beyond age-appropriate activities. This can include instrumental tasks such as housekeeping, caring for sibling, or financial responsibility, but also the responsibility of caring for and providing for the emotional well-being of parents. You will be asked to complete several tasks and questionnaires about yourself and a sibling. When you have more then one sibling, think about the sibling who had the biggest impact on your life (positive or negative). This study will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please think of a sibling with whom you lived in the same household for at least 10 years during childhood and/or adolescence, and/or with whom you share at least one biological parent.
